The engine doesn’t need ‘blowers’ but it could use some ventilation. I was thinking that I would use blower motors for this but it turns out that they are only meant to run for about 15 minutes at a time. I need the motors to run whenever the engine is running. In fact; I may wire them so that they run when ever the Start battery is active.
There are some ‘industrial’ blower motors (Jabsco makes one) that are meant for marine and continuous use. However; they are crazy expensive. I do not need spark protection so I went for ventilation fans that have some water resistance and can move a reasonable volume of air. They look like computer fans to me.
My main goal with this has been to blow out of the rear vent. It turns out that getting to that rear vent pipe is nearly impossible as it comes out between the fuel tank and a bulkhead… I can not even see it without an aid. It also has the solar panel wiring running through it. It does run through a wheel house bench box so I may be able to work with that.

I was able to get a 3″ pipe fitting on the forward/starboard pipe end. I will have to order a smaller fan for this one. It will draw air in. The steering cable rubs on it but that is no change from the past – except now it rubs on rubber.

I was able to do a complete install (aside from connecting the fan wires) on the forward/port vent.
