Wheel House Roof

Posted on May 1, 2022May 1, 2022 by admin

I am putting the hardware back on the roof. I will do the last coat of paint after some of this is attached. Not sure what the wooden bits below the cowls and spotlight are called so I will call them ‘levelers’.

Found some 6×6 (full dim) cedar timber in the left over timber pile in the backyard. These were actually for the Alder II project. Anyway; grabbed a chunk and ran it through the table saw to make 3 squares.

Used a 6″ (and a smaller) hole saw to make the rough shape for the levelers. A doughnut. Started with the drill/driver but it got to smoking so I switched to a more serious drill.

The 3 for the cowls are roughed and I need to make a 4th for the spotlight. Need to shape the bottoms. The horn does need one as it is installed centered.
