I went out looking for a new bulb for the spot light. A quick search online had me thinking I could order one but I wanted to see if I could get one sooner. I found nothing close. This had me thinking that I could use the opportunity to upgrade the light. It is obvious to me that this has been done before (read; its not original in there anyway).
I decided to mount an LED ‘off road’ spotlight. The light is 6000 kelvins but it did not state the lumens. I know that these lights can have a wide range of lumens so it was with some reservation that I decided to purchase a pair (one for backup).
Mounting the new light was simple.
I returned to the boat in the evening to see how bright it is. My first impression – not more than a good ‘security guard’ LED flash light. So I am a little underwhelmed. I put an aircraft landing light in Merva’s spotlight and this is the ‘benchmark’. I will know more after the trip up Jervis this weekend.
