Engine Sensors

Posted on February 2, 2022February 2, 2022 by admin

I spent about 3 hrs working on the boat but did not accomplish nearly as much as I had hoped. I spent some time getting familiar with engine sensors (online). I enjoyed the effort.

I ran wire for connecting the engine to the boat. Ok; the engine can be Started and Stopped but I am not going anywhere (really) unless I can get some basic sensor information.

I ran out of 14 AWG so I did the last run (for the gear box pressure) with 16 AWG – the minimum standard. The ends have to be connected. One end to the engine harness and the other to the SeaGauge.

The SeaGauge will also want the battery/alt info – which is not part of the engine harness. My thinking is that I connect this later. It will mean opening some of the Deutsch connectors on the SeaGauge but this can be done without breaking them so – ok.
