The 12v re-wire project is 90% done so I am going to slow down a bit. I have plenty of time to get the remaining winter tasks done before spring shows up.
I still need to dive into the engine compartment regularly so I set up my office space in the aft cabin. Not sure the wheel house is better for this anyway. Hopefully get back to coding/creating again.
Some of the things I would have done differently but I have no plans to change. This is just because my preferences are different than the previous owner – not because I think it was done wrong. Also; I am used to the way Merva worked.
- I would have preferred if the aft head y-valve was connected differently. I would like to be able to go direct to the ocean under some situations and this is not possible in Euphemia in the aft head. A flush always goes to the tank and then one has to (with the y-valve in the same spot) hit another switch to pump out the tank.
- Battery banks (Start and House) are usually controlled by a selection switch where you can select an individual battery bank, combine them, or disconnect all. This is super common. I would then insert an automatic charge relay between the banks and keep the switch on all/combine pretty much all of the time. On Euphemia Start and House are much more autonomous. Each have their own alternator for example and I don’t see anyway to combine the battery banks.
