Breaker Panel
I have started installing new wiring harnesses. The preference is to;
- group logically related wires together with zip ties and label the group
- route each harness alone as much as possible securing with more zip ties
I am using reusable fittings to secure the harness along its route. These are also stronger than the others I am finding/removing.

The first harness is for the aft bilge. In this case there would normally be a double and a single (or 1 triple) but I have 2 doubles and 1 single. I have triple wire but decided to keep the existing double and single and simply reroute so they are together. I then added a new double – for the high water alarm.

I installed the 2 bilge and breaker panels into the lower area of the breaker cabinet. Only the aft bilge is actually wired so far.

There are a lot of things I would add to this boat (remote battery switch and automatic charge relay – for example) but I am trying to not change ‘the foundation’ of this 12v system – ie the high amp stuff.
Batteries
I pick up the new house batteries on Friday – at least that is the current plan. This will involve a trip into Vancouver to get them.
